L. C. Armstrong (American, b. 1954) Rainbow Falls over Flora and Fauna , 2010 If hope is a rainbow, L. C. Armstrong's Rainbow Falls over Flora and Fauna is awash in good spirit. Using thin layers of paint, Armstrong creates imaginary landscapes (full-spectrum waterfalls!) that are, as she describes, "lit by the light of long ago, by the original light of the sun or the moon." Here, her dreamscape is vividly colored and playful in scale. Gigantic blooms shelter a young girl and her good-luck goldfish.
