About this puzzle

Gourlay Steell was an extremely succesful animal painter during the 19th century. Born in Edinburgh, he began his artistic studies under the guidance of his father. In 1872 he was appointed the official painter of animals to Queen Victoria, and in 1882 he became the Curator of the National Gallery of Scotland. "A Highland Parting" is an oil on canvas painted in 1885. Highland cattle gaze over a fence as sheep are herded towards the road. The traditional wooden jigsaw puzzle will be a welcome addition to any Fine Art lover's puzzle collection.
