About this puzzle

John William Waterhouse (1849-1917) was an English painter who embraced the Pre-Raphaelite style and subject matter. Many of his artworks were inspired by ancient Greek mythology, Arthurian legends, and literature. Waterhouse painted versions of Miranda at the start and end of his career, in 1875 and 1916. The later version was exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1916, a year before Waterhouse's death, and shows Miranda as witness to the storm and shipwreck inspired by The Tempest.
